Hello!
A great big thank you to all the dancers at the assembly on Friday! They did a fantastic job showing off our dance unit. We have finished our badminton unit, now that testing has begun and we are on to more hand-eye coordination skills with the game of softball for years 4-6. K-3 will be working on hand-eye coordination skills using tennis as our guide. We are coming up on the athletics unit and more information about the sports day will be announced. Now that the weather has finally gotten a bit warmer, please remember to bring a water bottle and hat to PE class. Also, wearing or bring shorts and tee-shirt to stay a bit cooler. At the end of the week, years 3-6 will be running 1k for charity Terry Fox run. A great cause and some extra running for students!

Some of the activities we will be doing for years 2-6 are: Badminton, Tennis, Athletics and finish the final 2 weeks at the end of term with Games. I am really looking forward to our Sports Day which will be June 8th for Nursery - year 2 and June 9th for years 3-6. There will be much more information about this big event coming soon. Kindy will continue to have Karate lessons until the end of April and then we will begin our Athletics unit. Year 1 will be learning a variety of base games along with hand-eye and foot-eye coordination games for the next 4 weeks. It is getting much warmer out and all of the classes have been reminded about bringing a water bottle to class and hat if they would like.

Our dance unit has been a big success! I am so pleased with the students overall effort and participation. So far, they have learned 4 new dances and they even created their own circle dance. For the next couple of weeks, the students will be doing movement stations and action word dance. I will be away for a few days this week and next, but the dancing will continue along with a game of dodgeball! Make sure you get your kids to teach you their dances!
